Chauffeur driven tours of Ireland, built around your day
A private touring day is your own car and your own chauffeur from morning until you are back at the hotel. No group to wait for, no fixed departure time and no coach park queue. You decide when the day starts and how long you stand at the cliff edge.
Days are built from where you are staying and how much time you have, using the three formats above as the starting point.
Our chauffeurs know these roads, the timing of the coach traffic and where to stop for a photograph that is not the one everybody else takes. They will talk if you want the history of every field and stay quiet if you would rather watch the weather come in off the Atlantic.
The price covers the vehicle, the chauffeur, fuel, tolls and parking for the whole day. Entry tickets and lunch are yours, though we will hold tables and timed entries where it helps the day run.
Your pace, not a timetable
Stay longer where it is worth it, leave early where it is not.
Ahead of the coaches
We start early and drive the loops the way that keeps you in front.
One dispatch desk throughout
A multi-day itinerary is held in one place, so the plan is not explained twice.
Tickets and lunch are yours
We book the tables and the timed entries, you pay for what you use.

Planning
How a day gets built
The route is written out hour by hour before the day
01
You tell us the shape of it
How many days, where you are staying, what you would hate to miss. Two lines is enough to start.
02
We send a route and a timing
Written out hour by hour, with the driving times honest rather than optimistic, and a price for the day.
03
The chauffeur takes it from there
One car for the whole day, bags left in the boot. You adjust on the day as you like.

Seasons
When to go, honestly
Light and crowds move a great deal between March and October.
March to May
Long, soft light
Fewer people at the cliffs and the Ring of Kerry, gardens opening, everything still green from the winter.
June to August
Light until 22:00
The busiest months. We start early to reach the landmarks ahead of the coaches, and the long evenings buy an extra stop.
September and October
Warm, low light
The best light of the year for photographs. Sea still warm, coach traffic gone, hotels easier to book.
November to February
Short days
Dramatic Atlantic weather and empty roads. We shorten itineraries to match the daylight rather than pretend it is summer.
Questions
About touring days
Is the chauffeur a guide?
Our chauffeurs know the roads, the timings and where to stop, and will talk if you want them to. For a licensed guide with commentary we bring one along, quoted separately.
Can we change the plan on the day?
Yes. It is your day and your car. If the weather turns we will suggest the inland alternative rather than drive to a cliff in fog.
Do you book restaurants and tickets?
We will hold tables and timed entries for you where it helps the day run. The cost of tickets and lunch is yours.
How early do multi-day trips need booking?
Several weeks in high season, since a vehicle is held for every day of the itinerary. Short notice is worth a phone call.
A stop for lunch is part of the day, not an interruption
