The service

Airport transfers to Galway, and touring from the city

Galway is the second most requested destination we drive to, after Limerick. Almost all of it starts at an airport: Shannon an hour and twenty away up the M18, Dublin two and a quarter across the middle of the country.

A Galway transfer is one vehicle for your party, met inside arrivals with a name sign and driven to the door of the hotel. The motorway carries most of the journey, so the time is predictable and the price is fixed before you travel.

From the city the west opens in three directions. Connemara and Kylemore to the north west, the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher south along the coast road, Cong and Ashford Castle north east. Each of them is a comfortable day with the car held for your party.

Drop-offs in the city are straightforward. The hotels along the Salthill promenade, the Latin Quarter, Eyre Square, the university and the docks are all inside ten minutes of each other.

Questions

Getting to Galway

All questions
How long is the drive from Shannon to Galway?

An hour and twenty minutes for ninety three kilometres, almost all of it on the M18. Add twenty minutes in the Friday evening traffic around Galway city.

Can we stop at the Cliffs of Moher on the way?

Yes. The coast road adds around two hours to the transfer and we wait in the car park while you walk the cliff path. It is quoted with the journey.

Do you drive to Connemara?

Yes, as a touring day from Galway or as part of the transfer. Kylemore Abbey, Lough Inagh and the Twelve Bens are the usual loop.

Where do you drop off in the city?

Any address. Salthill, the Latin Quarter, Eyre Square, the university and the docks are all within ten minutes of each other.

Is there a price for the return leg?

A return is quoted as two journeys unless you keep the car, in which case it is a day rate. We will price both so you can choose.
