Route · SNN to Killarney

Shannon Airport to Killarney

Two hours south on the N21, one chauffeur, and a car that is still comfortable at the end of it.

The route

South on the N21

A single road for most of it, through Adare and over the county line into Kerry. Two hours five minutes when the road is clear.

  1. Shannon Airport

    Pickup · arrivals hall

Met inside with a name sign, luggage loaded, on the road within minutes of clearing the terminal.

  2. Adare

    Optional · 35 minutes in

Thatched cottages on the main street and the first sensible stop for coffee on a long run south.

  3. Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale

On the way · no stop needed

The N21 runs straight through both, so the journey keeps moving. Ask for a stop in either and we will build it into the quote.

  4. Castleisland

    Optional · 25 minutes out

Last town before Killarney. Worth a stop only if a child needs one.

  5. Killarney

    Drop-off · any address

Hotel door in town, a lodge on the Muckross road, or straight into the national park.

Vehicle

Which car for two hours

On a run this long, luggage decides. Two people with four large cases travel better in an Executive MPV than in a sedan.

  • Executive Sedan

    Executive Sedan

    2 pax · 2 cases

Two travellers with hand luggage and a case each.

  • Executive MPV

    Executive MPV

    7-8 pax · up to 10 cases

The default for families and any party with golf clubs. Every seat taken leaves less room for cases.

  • Minibus

    Minibus

    16 pax

Tour groups and corporate parties travelling together.

Questions

About this route

How long is the drive, honestly?

Two hours five minutes in normal conditions. Allow fifteen minutes more on a summer Friday, when the N21 through Adare is slow.

Is there a stop on the way?

Yes if you want one. Adare is thirty-five minutes in and is the usual choice. A stop is quoted with the journey, so the figure is agreed before you travel.

Can you collect us at Kerry Airport instead?

Yes. Kerry is twenty minutes from Killarney and we cover it as a standard transfer. Tell us the flight and we quote that leg instead.

Is the price fixed?

The quote you accept is the price. Tolls and parking are inside it, and a flight delay does not change it.

What our guests say

Next step

Kerry is worth more than the drive through it.

The car and chauffeur can stay with you for the day rather than leaving after the transfer.
