Questions

About this day

Which way round do you drive the Ring of Kerry?

Usually anticlockwise, the same way as the tour coaches. Kerry County Council notes that the coaches go round this way to avoid meeting on the narrow sections, and the Discover Kerry visitor site advises drivers to do the same. If your hotel or your choice of stops makes the other direction more sensible, we say so in the quote.

Does the Ring of Kerry really fit into one day from Killarney?

Yes, as a full day of up to eight hours with short stops in the towns along the way. If you would like longer walks as well, it is worth asking us about a second day on the peninsula.

Can we add the Skellig Ring or Valentia Island?

Ask us when you book. A detour off the main loop means less time somewhere else, because the day still finishes within eight hours.

Where do we stop for lunch on the Ring of Kerry?

Usually in Waterville, on the far side of the peninsula from Killarney. We can reserve a table, and the bill is yours rather than part of the price.

Is the Ring of Kerry worth it in the rain?

The towns are just as good in the rain, but the high viewpoints can sit in cloud. We move the photo stops to whichever part of the day looks clearest.

Is it the same car and chauffeur all day?

Yes, one car and one chauffeur from collection to drop-off. Coats, bags and shopping stay on board while you are out walking.
