Questions

About this day

Can we do this half day straight after landing at Shannon?

Yes, and it suits a morning arrival well. Bags stay in the boot, Bunratty is the first stop, and the morning ends at your hotel instead of a car hire desk.

Are the Bunratty tickets included?

No, entry is paid by you. At the time of writing (October 2026) an adult visit to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park booked online on the official site is 18 euro, and it is worth checking the current price before the day.

Why is this a half day and not a full day?

The two places sit close to the airport and to each other, so a half day of up to four hours covers them properly. If you would like to add the Cliffs of Moher or Limerick city, a full day is the better fit.

Can the half day run in the afternoon instead?

Yes, as long as it starts early in the afternoon. At the time of writing the castle closes at 16:00 sharp and the folk park at 17:30, so Bunratty stays first and Adare follows it.

Is the half day suitable for children?

The folk park is the part children tend to remember, with its farmhouses and village street to wander. Tell us their ages when you book and the right child seats will be fitted before collection.
