The Antrim coast road is an hour north, and with it the Giant’s Causeway, the rope bridge at Carrick-a-Rede and the distillery at Bushmills. Derry is an hour and twenty west, Dublin two hours south on the M1.
Vehicles and chauffeurs are licensed and insured for work on both sides of the border, so a journey that starts in Belfast and finishes in Kerry does not change cars at Newry.
